The B. Side:
The Business Side of Youth

How you can get involved with The B. Side:

Business Community, Community Organizations, Community Members and Potential Donors

The Business Side of Youth seeks business owners and other professionals to volunteer to assist Washtenaw County teens as they develop business plans and begin to establish their own business. We have volunteer opportunities for every level of time commitment. Here are four different ways to volunteer at the B. Side:

  • Consulting/Advising: One or two meetings with a youth to offer your business expertise for a specific aspect of the youth’s business.
  • Job Shadowing: Allowing a youth to follow you for a day or several days to gain insight into a typical day in your business field.
  • Mentoring: A three-to-six month commitment to work with a youth in completing and implementing their business plan.
  • Internship/Apprenticeship: An intensive work experience for youth to gain the skills necessary to be successful in their chosen area.

"The greatest gift you can give to another is the gift of a good example." - Joe Venuto, founder of Good Business & President of C.E.O.
